About Our Co-op

A place to call home

Established in 1980 during booming economic times, the Huntington Place Cooperative housing was built to allow those not necessarily associated with the oilfield to have an affordable place to live.

To this day, we strive to keep the cost of living in our community affordable for all.

Our Mission

Our Vision

To provide secure, long term affordable housing to our members and for the co-op to be self-sustainable in the future through programs, and technology affordable to the co-op.

We are established to provide affordable family housing in a safe and healthy environment.  We are a non-profit organization built and run on co-operative principles.  We are committed to maintaining a financially viable housing co-operative while keeping units maintained and marketable.

Our Future

Our Board of Directors is always working to meet the needs of the times.  From Electric Vehicle plug-ins and Solar Panels to renovations that include upgraded 3 pane windows.  Over the last 40 years the community has seen several updates to maintain the standard of living to the National Building Code.

Family Run

Family Oriented

All members have a say.  We have a 7 member Board of Directors who encourage all members to be involved.  We also have committees to meet the community needs: social, gardening, membership and more.  Volunteering helps make the Co-op better for all that live here.

Our community at Huntington Place Cooperative Housing is a self contained area that allows children to be free.  The complex has it's own playground area and indoor common space which includes a kitchen for meetings, birthday parties, and other gatherings.  The complex borders on an elementary school (Duncan Cran Elementary), a church (Evangelical Mission Church), & is within walking distance of the high school (North Peace Secondary) that allows a safe place for children of all ages to play and grow in a safe environment.
